What is My Chemical Romance?
For most, it's a once intolerable life, now saved by a single song lyric. It's being that kid sitting alone at lunch with a new-found pride in the Black Parade lyrics sprawled across their chest.
For many, My Chemical Romance truly is the savior of the broken, the beaten, and the damned. Never before has a group of fans been able to truly, and honestly admit that a band is the reason they are still here today. It's pretty much impossible to explain that surreal connection you feel to every word Gerard belts out on the new CD you've had on repeat for the last 8 hours.
Loving MCR isn't an obsession. It's not a fad. It's the feeling of knowing that, as long as there are other Killjoys walking the earth, you will never have to feel alone again. I'm proud to be apart of some of the toughest, most faithful family in the world. I know I'm not alone in saying that my only goal in life is to be able to walk up to Gee, Mikey, Ray, Bob and even Frank, and (after being revived from fainting and probably pissin my pants), simply tell them, "Thank you".
My Chemical Romance brings out the pride of living in all who take the time to really listen to the lyrics; hanging on every note. An MCR fan is someone who's been picked on. Someone who's always been misunderstood. Someone who's never felt an ounce of pride or dignity until they heard the sound of Sweet Revenge. An MCR fan will undoubtedly be the most faithful person you'll ever have the pleasure of knowing. People can say nearly anything they want about an MCR fan, and never hear a single word against it. But God have mercy on anyone with the nerve to say anything ignorantly derogatory about My Chemical Romance near a devoted fan.
So if while reading this you felt your pulse speed up, and had to refrain from excitedly yelling in agreement, you know you're a true Survivor. Never forget that having that sweet collection (or shrine) of My Chem Merch is nothing short of pure devotion. I think it's safe to say that you're all with me when I say the Black Parade isn't, and never will be, dead.
